HR SPecialist

Primary Function

Provide administrative support for Human Resources policy and procedures related to recruitment, training, benefits administration, compensation, certification, licensure, and background checks. Schedule interviews, manage the completion of new/rehire documentation, coordinate the verification of education and regulatory licensure requirements.

Roles and Responsibility

  • Gatekeeper of employment master schedule for chair car/BLS/ALS-staffed positions

  • Coordinates and confirms all employee schedule changes with Operations Managers

  • Recruits, hires and re-hires employees in accordance with local, state and federal hiring guidelines

  • Ensures recruits meet regulatory requirements of positions offered and existing credentials are current (OEMS License/Mass driver's license/Cori check)

  • Coordinates offer of employment and acceptance

  • Confirms eligibility of recruit’s status for work and payroll (I.G. exclusion)

  • Maintains the organization's employment profile requirements utilizing identified software: PlanIt/My Brewster/ESO/Enroute/Shell/Constant Contact/Uniform P.O.

  • Issues purchase orders for replacement of employment uniforms Insures the confidentiality of all employment records

  • Assists in the development and implementation of organizations employment manual

  • Coordinates/file employee re-certifications

  • Reviews per diem employment status for organizational compliance

  • Maintains strong communication contact with the leadership team

  • All other duties assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent work experience

  • One (1) year of progressive experience in a human resource environment

  • Knowledge of Windows® Microsoft software

  • Excellent presentation skills utilizing software and oral communications

  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license

  • Must be able to read, speak and write English

  • Bilingual (English, Spanish, Portuguese)
