Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances are staffed with two paramedics who meet or exceed all the training requirements set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. For all critically ill or vent-dependent patient transportation, Brewster Ambulance Service staffs vehicles with an EMT so both paramedics are able to focus on the patient for the duration of the transport.
Brewster Ambulance Service’s Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance transport is for patients who require medical transportation and continuous medical supervision/monitoring. Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) trained to make treatment decisions staff every Brewster BLS ambulance. Wheelchair vehicle drivers are certified in basic first aid and CPR.
