Responding with Critical patient Information at the ready
In the world of fire fighting, law enforcement and emergency medical response, when responders are dispatched into the field, seconds count. Millions of dollars are invested in training, equipment, hiring experienced people and providing them the environment to succeed, but one of the most valuable—and priceless—tools that has recently been provided to first responders is Smart911.
Challenges that face responders, especially paramedics responding to 9-1-1 calls, often include inadequate details regarding:
- Precise location and problematic access points
- Family members and/or cohabitants
- Animals on site
- Prior medical history
- Behavioral problems
- Physical disabilities
The lack of accurate information on an emergency call can cost valuable time and sadly, sometimes lives. Smart911 is a tool that provides caller information at the level of detail that empowers responders to arrive more prepared and ready to provide aid. Additionally, Smart911 SMS allows callers to send and receive text messages when conditions don't allow them to speak over the phone, whether because of being hearing impaired or because they are in a critical emergency situation.
Kicked off in 2010, Smart911 is a service of Rave Mobile Safety that provides 9-1-1 responders with critical supplemental data that callers have opted to provide emergency responders in the event of a 9-1-1 call. Smart911 is easily deployed and works seamlessly in NG9-1-1 (IP-based) or legacy environments, providing emergency responders with valuable information which can improve responses and even save lives.
